I try to correct the errors that I find in the screen of SEP. I think that I have done all that I read in other threads.
Any other ideas?

Run the symdiag tool on it for further error checking:
Download SymDiag to detect Symantec product issues
Also, try running a repair on the client via add/remove programs.
How many computers is this issue occuring on?
Could you share the SEP screen which shows error. Total how many clients are affected?
If it's a single client then perform a SEP repair.
