Download NBU 7.5 agent for ORACLE and SQL.

Hello,
In NBU 7.5 Do I need an agent to backup Oracle and SQL?

Where I can download it?

hi,

if you are using Unix, you need to have the Netbackup data base agent intalled.

if you are having the Windows, the database agent gets installed along with the base software.

you would need to contact the symantec to get the download files.

Download NBU Windows and Unix Client software from https://fileconnect.symantec.com/

Use Serial # on your License key certificate to access downloads.

Database agents are automatically included in ALL 7.x client installations.

If you have installed a 7.5 client, you should already have what you need installed (you will still need to apply the correct license to activate it).

If you find you need the base 7.5 client, please follow Marianne's advice right up above this reply.

Yes and No.

 

Yes) To back them up directly you need the agent (which you should have already per CRZ) & appropriate licensing.

 

No) You could get your DBAs to back them up using 'alternative methods' & then use NetBackup to backup the backup!
