  • 1.  Download Protection Content out of date on all clients

    Hello

    The download protection content is showing as out of date on every single one of my 200 clients in the manager console. The clients are communicating with the server and receiving all their other updates without any problem. How do I go about troubleshooting this please? Manager is 12.1.5 and clients are a mix of 12.1.3 and 12.1.5

    Have you tried to run a new liveupdate session on the SEPM?

    on the SEPM server 

    click on start

    run

    type Luall.exe, see if it downloads all the necessary ones.https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/endpoint-status-out-date-download-protection-content

    Hello,

    Could you please provide us the Screenshot of the Liveupdate Downloads from SEPM:

    SEPM >> Admin >> Local site >> Show Liveupdate Downloads

    What's the date on the download content in SEPM?

    It reports 'LiveUpdate succeeded'

    All other lines either state 'no updates found' or 'successfully downloaded'

    It downloads all of them OK except for these four:

    SEPM Content Catalog - LU1845: This product was not updated due to a processing error.

    SESM AntiVirus Client Win32

    SESM AntiVirus Client Win64

    SPC AntiVirus Client Mac

    All the above three report: LU1875: This update failed during its preprocessing welcome text phase

    It varies wildly from client to client....some are June 2013, some are August 2014, some are March 2015!!! It's just all over the place!

    can you post log.liveupdate ?

    hese errors can also be found in the "log.liveupdate"
    Path: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\LiveUpdate"
       "C:\ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate"

    I ran the repair but got the following error after clicking finish:

    Java Virtual Machine Launcher

    Error: Unable to access jarfile C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin\inst.jar

    I then ran luall.exe again but got the same errors as before.

    UPDATE: I fixed the Java error by running Setup.exe as admin rather than using the msi. The repair and reconfiguration ran through successfully, however LiveUpdate still reports the same errors as before :(

    This was resolved by Symantec Tech Support by selecting all options under 'Content Types to Download'. Previously, not all were selected.
