  • 1.  Download Protection Content Out-of-date every day

    Some clients in our network shows "out-of-date Not avaiable" for the download protection content every day. After a while the clients disappear from the list. But on the next day after a shutdown and restart they are out-of-date again. All other content are up-to-date on that clients. We are using SEP 12.1.3.

    The change of the date format does not help. Does anyone know how to solve that?

    Thanks for your answer James007. I will try an update. But I'm not sure that the problem is solved with that. Because I have clients in the list out-of-date and they disappear after some time.

    did you change the date format to US?

    "The short term fix would be to either increase your Download Protection and IPS thresholds or to switch to using the US date format for reporting temporarily.

    Thanks for your answer Rafeeq. Yes, I have changed the date format, but it does not help.

    hmm, I checked the release notes just  to confirm 

    Content appears “out of date” when clients have up-to-date content
    Fix ID: 
    2436471
    Symptom: The Download Protection Content report shows a failure, with out-of-date content, when the clients have up-to-date content.
    Solution: The method that SEPM uses to calculate content dates was modified to correct this issue.

    However you are seeing this issue even after upgrade.

    since this is a reporting issue, there is not much we can do at the client end.

    my suggestion would be to  upgrade just  your sepm  to 12.1.4 ( now its RU4a) , You can postpone your clients upgade.

    How many clients you have in your network, we might need to plan accordingly.

    Recomend to upgrade to new version i.e SEP 12.1.4 which has many fixes

    I have upgraded the SEPM, but that does not solve the issue. Do you think I must also upgrade the clients to solve it?

    Fix note says it changed the way SEPM calculated the date however It would be better to upgrade the clients too

    Open SEPM

    click on admin

    servers

    select local host, at the bottom select Rebuild indexes now

    Just give it a sometime and monitor it for few hours.
