Is it possible to download virus definition files on a system that does not have Symantec Endpoint installed? The system that will have Endpoint installed is completely isolated from the internet and nothing can be loaded on it without being manually inspected and approved by security personnel. As such, I need to be able to download virus definition files, burn them to DVDs, and eventually manually install them on the target system after they've been approved.

    Is this possible?

    You can download here:

    https://www.symantec.com/security_response/definitions/download/detail.jsp?gid=sep

You won't be able to install though if no client is present

I've downloaded the file from there... I guess I misunderstood it's purpose, I assumed that script would reach out and download the actual definitions from a server. You're saying that this script contains the actual definitions themselves? If so, my problem is solved.

Yes, the file contains certified defs. You just simply download and install.

Thanks for the clarification. This is exactly what I was hoping to hear.
