Drivecrypt error with SEP 11 MR4 mounting encrypted partitions

Created: 17 Mar 2009 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 1 comment

Hi Everybody!

(Sorry for posting again, but seems like the old post was lost during merge of forums)

I´ve got several problems after installing SEP 11 MR4 with my encrypted partitions using drivecrypt version 3.03A.

After installing symantec endpoint protection 11 MR4 as a stand alone client and starting mounting encrypted partitions with drivecrypt, i´ve got this error message from drivecrypt: "System Driver Access Error: Not Raw-Device – Share Violation".

Even when i remove / deinstall SEP, i can´t mount this partitions again. Only playing back an Image without SEP 11 works again.

I use this partitions on a usb- hardrive also with a normal partition which i can use with sep 11 without any problems.

The encrypted partitions on that usb- harddrive still work fine while connected to another maschine without SEP 11.

I´ve already tryed installing SEP only with antivirus + firewall and allow dricecrypt.exe, but no change.

So I think SEP writes something inside the registry, still there after removing / deinstall SEP.

No networkcontrol or poractive scan in use and no hardwarecontrol installed.

I´ve just started up with SEP, so not much familiar with it.

Maybe somebody got the clou...?!

Hopefully

Xofart

To narrow down, Try installing just the AV portion of it.

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting...

"Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"
