Deployment Solution

Every day between 6:30PM and 7:00PM the drivers.manifest.txt gets over written with a 0KB file.  Also about the same time two other files get created drivers.manifest.old and drivers.manifest-New.txt both 0KB.  I can recreate the drivers.manifest.txt by deleting the file and opening the Driver Management but that is not an acceptable solution.  We tend to schedule computer re-images to happen overnight and the drivers.manifest.txt is being over written before the re-image happen and the computer are not getting the needed drivers.

Can anyone tell how and why this is happening?

Sounds to me like you installed Package Services on the Notification Server.  If so, remove it.  It's not needed or recommended.  Some feel you should have it, but you shouldn't, esepcially in this release due to issues just like this one.  Assuming that is the problem, the "reason" is because it tries to replicate the file over itself, which is awkward.  We never really "proved" this was the case, but that's where the evidence pointed, and so far, everyone who has removed package services from the SMP itself has seen the problem go away.  If that doesn't do it, let us know.

What is the best way to remove Package Services?

you can have a  try with a driver software called driver navigator,  good luck 

Package Services are installed, and removed, under Setting | Notification Server | Site Server Settings.  Expand Site Services on the left and then highlight Site Servers.  On the right, you'll see all your site servers.  Highlight the NS / SMP server, and click the pencil to edit it.  Remove the check box from Package Services if it's listed and complete the wizard.
