The only method I'm aware of would be the actual HP Client Manager solution, which is similar to the Dell solution. I have used it recently though. One thing to consider is whether or not these updates can be scripted via the SSM utility. Lenovo has a similar utility that I thought you could utilize in this fashion (but don't quote me on that).

HP Client Manager does indeed have the ability to push out HP specific softpaqs as well as modify BIOS settings.  The latest version available for HPCM is 7.0.  There are some videos avaialble as well.  Pelase search on 'HP Client Manager 7.0' and you will see a TV like icon next to the entries for the videos.

HPCM run HP Instant Support Health Scan which automatically identifies the softpaqs to be downloaded  for the various supported machines.  Once identified, you simply click on 'Download HP Health Scan Softpaqs' and then use the HP Softpaq Delivery Wizard to push out the Softpaqs.  The Wizard is smart enough to know which softpaqs apply to which machines.  It's all done under the hood.
