Reinstall fixed

Well, I fixed it by reinstalling the PXE Server & Manager. I'd like to know what is really happening though. This happens about once every 3-6 months and reinstalls fix it (be sure to keep you MMAccessKey.ini though), but this is really irritating, and I'd like to be able to fix it instead of reinstalling.

Thanks,
James

RE: DS 6.8, PXE Config helper dying

Hello jharr,

Yeah, gather the PXE log files and post them here or send them to Altiris so these issues get addressed.

In order to enable the log file launch PXE config and the Log tab place a check mark by PXE Manager and PXE Service. Change the level to "Debug".

NOTE. Do not enable the MFTP log file, the size of the log file increases really fast and could slow down your PXE server.

Similar thing happened to me...

And I think I fixed it by running the PXE Config service as an AD user who is an administrator on the machine. The default for the service was to run as the System Account, as soon as I changed it to an administrative user for the domain instead it seemed to work just fine.

Of course, I should add that I am running DS 6.9 rather than 6.8.
