  • 1.  DS 6.9: Detect the presence of a file on client machine

    We have Deployment Solution 6.9.  We have a few programs installed on some of our PCs that do not have an entry in add/remove programs.  We need a way to detect if that program is installed on any given PC.  Can't figure out a way to use a filter.  Is there a way we could search the HD or registry for a particular file or entry?

    One thing I've done in the past is run a script on all computers that does an "IF EXIST" for a particular file, and if it's there, import a dummy SVS package or install a dummy MSI that you can then inventory for.
