    Hey Everyone,

Got a Dell Latitude 2120 and I'm having a heck of a time deploying an image onto it. Using WinPE, everytime I attempt to throw the image on it, Altiris spits that error back at me. I'm pretty certain it's because it's attempting to image the SD card slot on the laptop, but I've tried turning the slot off in the bios and it still doesn't look past it. Is there a way to skip over this slot?

I really appreciate any help anyone can give me.

    Thanks,

    Rob

What if you take a WindowsXP install CD and let it get to the point of displaying partitions.  How many do you see?  Can you delete them?

Under your Distribute Disk Image Advanced options, are you sent to 100% or a fixed size?

Look under additional options and see if you have the delete options set for both Partitions listed.

Last but not least, or maybe it should be first, what gets me with Dell PC's on a regular basis is an old version of BIOS.  As a matter of practice, this is the first thing I do to a PC before I try to image it.

Usually when RDeploy fails, it will place a log file on the server.  This log file may tell you more about what and where it is failing (for example, if you are using WinPE 64Bit, the logs are usually in \\server\express\rdeploy\windows\x64\rdlog).

Also, it's possible if the machine came pre-loaded with Windows 7, it is trying to load the image onto the 100MB partition.  If that is the case, it won't be able to resize it because of the other partitions, you may want to delete all the partitions or ensure that your job is set to overwrite any and all partitions.

Just on the off-chance... if you are using USB sticks to deliver automation to the computer, this can be a symptom of the rdeploy job trying to image the first drive which can sometimes be the removable USB device.

I sincerely appreciate everyone's help. I figured out how to get past the error. In my deploy job, using the switch -RAW, it treats all partitions as raw partitions and skips to the correct partition, which in my case is 2.

Although, the fun doesnt end there, imaging Windows 7 is a bit of a hassle.

Really appreciate everyone's input! Thank you so much.
