  • 1.  DS 6.9 SP4 and SQL Server 2000 - definitely not?

We have DS 6.9 (no SP) on a Win 2003 server, with SQL Server 2000 on the same server. We want to upgrade DS to SP4 (just to get Windows 7 support) but note that the system requirements now say SQL Server 2005 or 2008. Is SQL Server 2000 definitely out then?
    Thanks.

No, SQL Server 2000 hasn't been supported since, I think, 6.9 SP2.  You'll be required to use 2005 or 2008.

We upgraded our DS to SP4 and we're still running SQL 2000.  No problems to report here.

Some things that are supported do not work, and some things that work are not supported.  I think support asks you to use 2005/2008, but 2000 should be fine.  But to be honest, documentation is lacking.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like it will be a case of "suck it and see", but it should mostly work.
    Thanks again,
    Dave.

Depending on your environment the free version of SQL (SQL Server Express 2008R2) works well with Deployment Server.  And is well free which is always a plus.
