  • 1.  DS 7.1 Hardware Independant Agent

    Hi,

    When creating a Universal Image in DS6.9 we used to create our XP image on a workgroup and then at least have the Aclient installed only prior to it being syspreped.

    Now with DS 7.1, do we install the Symantec Agent and then ONLY install the Deployment Agent plugin?

    My concern is the Duplicate GUID from the NS agent which would eventually become a problem...

    Install whichever agents you like, then run the Prepare for image capture task.  It strips Altiris GUIDs.  If you're terrified of duplicate GUIDs (which would be understandable), boot it as an Unknown Computer to an Initial Deployment menu and gather the image from there.
