This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello. Today I had to restart the DS server. I restarted it fine. But when a client tried to PXE boot the menu was empty
> 0 (0) Next Device (BIOS/EFI)

and had nothing under this in the list.

I do have a couple of pxe boot images, x86 and x64 that are usually there. I know that the list needs some time to regenerate after a reboot of the system.

Any ideas how long this can take to regenerate? Or how can I force this to regenerate.

This isnt usually an issue but there was an urgent need to have this functionality today and there were no items displayed in the list.

Thanks in advance.

try to restart the SBS

try to restart the SBS services. Start with the very top one and work your way down.

it could be the PXE server did not get its settings.

Click 'Recreate Preboot

Click 'Recreate Preboot environment' -- do not click save changes.

On the DS server, update the agent policy by opening the Symantec Management Agent and choosing Update.

On the DS server, watch taskmgr for bootwiz.exe to run.  Wait for it to finish running.

Try again!
