I am creating WinPE several time but it got currupted.

When I look into Deployment\Task Handler\SBS\Images\Production\x86PC there i foudn WinPE which I created but I found in that there is dummy.0 file is created in all WinPE.

does this ever worked? Do you installed any update of the CMS?

There is a manual solution for this: http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH190035

But, normally this should work by default and could be an issue with your server. Do you already tried a restart of the services?

I have not installed any update of the CMS.

ITMS 7.1 SP2 MP1 update is showing in my SIM but I have not installed that.

The WinPE is currupting several time it is just working for 1 day or half day after that suddenly under WinPE folder dummy.0 is created.

I tried to created new WinPE several but it is also working for same 1 or half day and again dummy.0 created

Do you restart SBS Services and tried to recreate image?

Yes I restarted SBS Services as well and tried to recreated WinPE but still it WinPE created with dummy.0 file

What is your env-design? Only NS for all clients? Are there any site-server?

The environment is NS + Main site servers and All location site servers.

 

 

Hi, Important Information! Did the PE gets everywhere corrupted? Maybe corrupted Deployment Site Server components!? If a Site Server is involved Then a repair could help. Regards

Yes PE gets everywhere corrupted.

On first on our main Package Server package PE installed and it is distributed to all other location package server.

for background: the pe is build on every site-server itself. The drivers are only replicated item in this process. The (re-)building of the pe is task of the siteserver.

In association to your other thread: did the corruption started while putting new drivers to pe? If this is the case, go a step back and remove the last driver you put in.

PE is currupting from before adding new drivers and I already removed newly installed drivers.

for conclusion: the pe got corrupted and nothing happened before this? and it gots corrupted on every siteserver? you added no driver or any update?

Are the siteserver installed as supported by symantec? taskservice, packagaservice and deployment site server components? Are there any other errors?

I suggest to submit a support case. I can't see the error between the lines.

One thing I forget to tell you that few months back the driver database management was showing empty suddenly both deployanywhere and preboot drivers.

We found that under NS server unders driver database management folder driver.manifest file was shown only few KB and In another environment it was showing above 350KB.

We copied that 350KB driver manifest file and paste it on current NS server and rebooted after that the Driver Database management in console was shown properly bothe Deployanywhere and Preboot after that only the problem persist.
