    Hi,
Is there a way to make software installs completely invisible from user?  Right now I window that pops up letting user know there is a package being sent and they have the option of accepting immediately or aborting.  I'd like for them to be unaware of the package.
    Thanks

Most software will have some kind of silent install. Some are command line switches, others are answer files. Its just a matter of finding out how to install it silently.
What is the software you are trying to install? How are you installing it?

It's not the software that's putting up a window but it's an Altiris window that pops up.  For example I was trying to do an auto update of the Aclient agent.  But a window pops up from Altiris telling client that software is being installed and gives choice of install now or abort.

Are you talking about NS or DS?
DS doesn't have anything that would popup a message like that. I believe with NS and Software Delivery you can set it up like that.

I'm sending the job with DS and I get a pop up window.

If I let it just run eventually it shows up in the DS as having ran correctly, or whether it was aborted.

Can you attach a screen shot of the popup?

You can ajust this setting in the aclient.inp file under your .\express\Agents\Aclient Folder. then you will have to push out the new config to all of your existing clients. I believe the setting you need to set to "NO" is this PromptExecute=No

Ok so definitely the aclient.inp is the issue.  Now I did go to edit it, however once I read the file I realized is matches exactly with the settings of the production agent.  So instead I went to the All Computers container, right click, Change Agent Settings, Production Agent and took off the check mark that I had not even realized had been checked off.  In the Access Tab, it was checked off for Prompt user for Copy File and Run Commands.  I unchecked it, hit apply and was able to push out a job without any indication it was doing anything to the client.

    Thanks!
