Hi,
We have a DS6.9 server created from a DS6.8 install with a later upgrade to DS6.9. We appear to have a problem with PXE imaging with WinPE1.6 -the clients undergo reboot cycles.
What appears to be happening is this:
1) Job issues to image computer with ID say of 50023
2) Computer reboots, and PXE boots into WinPE1.6
3) In automation, the client connects to the server and the agent window just terminates. A wireshark trace shows that the exchange looks like the computer thinks its a new ID, say 50050, which has just been created.
4) As the computer of ID 50050 has no work to do, the Client reboots.
5) The computer PXE boots into WinPE1.6 as computer of ID 50023 still has work to do... and so on...
This behaviour only appears to occur when machines are booted into WinPE1.6 -DOS and Linux automation envionments are working fine. Computers with embedded WinPE1.6 are also imaging fine.
I've got a support incident opened on this one, but i wondered if anyone out there had any ideas. I'm testing out WinPE2.1 but am loath to move to be honest unless I **REALLY** HAVE TO.
