  • 1.  Duplicate devices when creating a summary report in Altiris version 6

    Hi,

    I'm manually creating a Summary report using Client management suite version 1 for computers, with the report including the following:

    Name, OS Name, FQDN, Mem size, HDD size, Asset Tag, Comp Model, Comp Type, S/N and System Manufacturer.

    The report runs fine but all the devices are duplicate  (ss below for an example).

    Can anyone explain why this is happening and how can I rectify it?

    First thought is you're not using a distinct record. Second, since you are using HDD size, I supect each system has more than one HDD, but it's hard to tell as your output has been cut off.

    Hi,

     

    Please see attached my sample report. I didn't create the report using SQL, I simply created a new report using the Summary report (report type) and manually entered the contents from data type and fields and ignored the criteria and sorted by options.

    The 'size mbytes' which shows a "real" number, and a 0 for each machine, indicates it's probably recording the 0 for the CD rom. So, you can filter on something like  where the drive is equal to C: or something similar.
