  • 1.  Duplicate name in Symantec Management Console 7.1 SP2??

    I don't know that why I've a lot of duplicate name. Everyday when I look at "Computers with duplicate name" report, I saw a lot of duplicate computer name in there page. And when I tried to merge resources, The computer name in "Merge Resources" window is not same with the computer name that shows in the report page. So are there anyway to solve this problem? Please kindly help.

    Did you look at the resource manager page on the duplicate computers and verify the GUID.

    Where are you importing from (CMDB, AD, LDAP, asset, network discovery, etc)? Your computer names appear to be the same from an Altiris perspective, but it looks like actual Windows names are different for both resources, not to mention serial number and all that jazz.

    Do you have an import rule or CMDB rule that's modifying computer name to be something other than the computer's name in Windows?
