Duplication job won't cancel.

NBU 7.1

Have a duplication from SLP that keeps coming back.  I've tried various nbstutil commands (cancel, inactive, etc) from master and media.  Nothing fixes it.  Same problem occured in January.  Can't find the command I used then to kill it.  I'd rather not bring down the services to fix the problem.

I assume you've tried: nbstlutil cancel -backupid <backupid>

?

Option 1:

There is one undocumented switch "remove_all" which will cancel all the SLP pending duplications .... If that is okay with you.

nbstlutil remove_all

Though the help of this command switch will show an option for backupid ---- however that is not used and it will go ahead and cancel all the SLP pending duplications.

Option 2:

Enable nbstserv logs to see why this backupid is getting added to duplication batch.

vxlogcfg -a -p 51216 -o 226 -s DebugLevel=6 -s DiagnosticLevel=6

Wait for duplication job to run, after that run this command

vxlogview -p 51216 -i 226 -d all > /tmp/226.out

In the "/tmp/226.out" just keep searching for the backup id in question and try to read 2 to 3 line above and below the line containg the backupid. It will show you the reason why this backup id is added in duplication batch.

nbstserv log is one of the easiest log to read ....... as it logs more english sentences then c++ code lines.
