Hi there How long time does it take until a link for an installation package sent by e-mail expires? When you deploy new packages and send a download link to users. Or does it just delete the oldest one? Thanks for answering

It will send email with the links, it does not delete any emails.

It doesn't expire but if you create a new link it will overwrite the previous install package. See here similar thread here:

    Hi Brian

Thanks for your help and the link. So in the thread you've posted you are saying that only one package can be created per Group, otherwise it overrides the existing package, but the link is staying the same?

But why am I experiencing "broken" links then after an amount of time? Happend several times so I guess there have to be a sort of lifecycle or not...? Or am I totally wrong now ;)?

    Thanks and Regards

From what I've seen, the link stays the same even if a newer package is created. The package just gets overwritten.

I've never seen the link expire though, how long before it expires for you and what version is this happening on?

I dont know the exact time but I would say about a month... I will check as soon as Ill be able to. The version is 12.1 RU4 Enterprise. I think its 12.1.4013.4013. Maybe its important for you that we have about 70 groups on the SEPM so its quite large... Could that be a reason?

I've never kept the link open for that long so I can't say for sure. The group size shouldn't matter.

What I would suggest is moving those packages to a network location and editing the link to point to that location instead, if you can of course.

We do save more important packages directly to avoid problems. It would just be nice if we could say something about the links e.g. "expires in 30 days" instead of "link expires, but we don't know when" you know what I mean?
