Hi Gregorio -

What version of Backup Exec are you running?

How long have you been experiencing this issue?

If you have version 6235 - what Hotfixes are installed?

The problem is that all the tasks that are done directly on the robot, as inventorying, unblock, import, etc they are not realized.

The scsi driver is: Adaptec ASC-29320APD

Can it be a problem of compatibility with the card?
The tasks that we create work propertly.
We have updated the program

What are your Windows Event logs producing?

Pay close attention to errors 5,7,9,11 and 15. Are you receiving any of these errors?

Here is the meaning of each error you are receiving:

Event ID 9s signify SCSI bus timeouts. These errors usually occur when the SCSI bus resets itself, or the tape drive does not respond in a timely fashion. Sometimes slowing the SCSI bus down can help resolve these issues. Also, loading the latest SCSI drivers and firmware can help resolve these issues. In certain high end servers, moving the SCSI card to a different Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) slot, one that does not share the same bus as a RAID controller, has been known to fix these errors. If neither of these help resolve the issue, please contact the hardware manufacturer.

Event ID 15s signify the device is not ready for access. These errors usually occur when the tape drive or tape library is having problems communicating with the server. These errors are usually generated because incorrect drivers are loaded, or the drivers are not up to date. It may also be caused by not having the latest firmware for the SCSI controller or tape drive.

Also - You should disable the Removable Storage Service. This service is used for NTBackup and it can sometimes conflict with Backup Exec.

I would first check the Tape Device drivers to verify they are Symantec. If they are then I would make sure the firmware for your devices (SCSI controller, tape drive) are up-to-date.
