Created: 16 Jul 2008 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments

For the past two weeks I have been receive this error message at the completion of my backups.

Error : e000fe09 - The directory is invalid.

The only problem is, it does not ever specify which directory is invalid.  How can I figure out what directory it is referring to?  The knowledge base article does me no good because i don't know what directory is causing the problem.

I'm running BE 11d 7170 SP2 HF32, 33, 34, 31, 35, 36, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 46, 43

alright, so i've been able to track down the problem directories, but i'm still not sure how to go about fixing the issue.  the bat directory in the picture below has over 5,000 directories in it, and throughout the day there are several directories that are deleted or added.  if a directory is deleted from the bat directory during the day, it errors out as an invalid directory during the nightly backup.  it shouldn't be doing this right?

Go to Selection List and then the Selections on the left then in the right side window choose View Selection Details. There is probably where the invalid item can be found and deleted.

HTH..
