    How do I edit the LU policy in Symantec Endpoint Protection Small Business Editon 12.0.122.192?

    Log in an go to Policies >> LiveUpdate

    Select your specific policy and edit it accordingly.

    On Server Settings tab make sure to check the box for "Use a LiveUpdate Sverer" This is for Symantec LiveUpdate.

    You can also set a schedule for the clients to download updates.

    This is the SEP client and I assume unmanaged?

    Select "Change Settings", do you see an option to configure LiveUpdate?

    Try

    Change settings > Client Management > Live Update tab

    There you should be able to manage the LiveUpdate settings.

    For unmanaged there is no policy. Just click on liveupdate it will get you the defs. If you go to change settings, you can schedule it ...

    Hello,

    You are running a SEP SBE 12.0 released in May 2009. Check Article: TECH154475

    It is recommended you to migrate the SEP SBE client to Latest version of SEP SBE 12.1 RU3

    To change the Liveupdate policy on an unmanaged client, you can change by:

    Change settings > Client Management > Live Update tab

    To change the proxy settings, you can go to Start >> Control panel and click on Liveupdate Application.

    Hi,

    Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

    I would be glad to answer your query.

    You have mentioned that you want to edit policy so that client will take definitions from liveupdate sever (Internet). What's the default source of update for this client?

    Was this client working as a managed client then converted to a unmanaged client and now want to access liveupdate tab which is grayed out? Any changes made in the SEPM console won't be applicable for unmanaged clients.

    If SEP is installed as a unmanaged client then liveupdate tab shouldn't't be grayed out. Once you click on liveupdate it should get connected to the internet.
