Endpoint Protection

Sir, I use symantec Endpoint Protection version 11.0.  I got installed from my previous company. Now I moved out of it. So, I need either to update it or uninstall it.It blocks my internet and makes my laptop slow. Please provide me a solution as soon as possible.

If this is Manage client so client are not updating because you have left you previous company so uninstall client.

At your present company, Symantec working or not?

If it running in present company. Just stop the smc service of your Laptop and Replace the Sylink file with your current company file.

path - C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection(sylink.xml)

I think in your old company there has a policy which are going to block the internet.

So first try to replace the Sylikn.xml file.

What version of SEP 11.x are you carrying?

In your case, you could either Uninstall the Network Threat Protection Feature by:

1) Go Add/Remove Programs

2) Select Symantec Endpoint Protection

3) Select Modify

4) Uncheck the Network Threat Protection and Application Device Control

I case, you feel you want to Uninstall Symantec Endpoint Protection Entirely, you can do the same as well along with Liveupdate from the Machine.

Since, it has been received from your company, the SEP 11 is a Licensed Version. However, since you have moved, you can make your choice.

I couldnt modify or remove . when I attempt to do so , it asks password. I dont have any password . Is formatting is the only solution for my problem......

Hey try to replace the sylink with running Server in Safe Mode because in Safe Mode Symantec Service is not working.

Because if you will try to uninstall the AV password also required in same condition better way is replace the sylink with current comapny server.

no need to format the system.

Replace sylink.xml makes sense if you now work in another company where they use SEP and they accept your system in the company.

You can still manually remove SEP 11:

You may need to do it in safe mode.

In my new organisation they dont use SEP. Can anyone suggest me uninstall or update tool for              SEP 11.0.6000.550

Thank you guys ..I successfully unstalled SEP 11.0.6000.550 . thanks for ur valuble efforts. Did I need to get back to SEP . Is it worthable. I have a chance to get back to same version but updating is problem for me. Becoz I will not work continously with the server. Plz reply me

please note that SEP 11 is an enterprise licensed product, i.e. it sold to companies, not to people. It means that the company who is licensed to use the product decides how to use it.

If you are talking about your home personal computer, I don't think you are entitled to install a product licensed to your company for your personal usage, neither a product licensed to your former employer. There is a kind of contract that allows users to use SEP at home but it should be confirmed by your employer.

If you are talking about a business PC, what can be installed and uninstalled on it is up your IT service.
