Endpoint Protection

We have SEP 11 and we use Networking Solutions as an Email Provider.  On all 6 computers (2 Vista, 4 XP Pro) emails download very slowly (as in by the byte in some cases and the computers lock up very easily.  These problems go away if we disable outlook scanning in SEP.  Can someone tell me if we are doing something wrong?

whats the version of SEP you have intalled?

MR5? or earlier can you give the complete version?

we are using Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.4202.75

This issue has been taken care of in the latest release RU-5 of endpoint. You can refer the release notes.

Performance of Outlook e-mail Protection

Symptom: Performance degradation on system when Outlook Auto-Protect plugin is enabled.
Solution: Modified the Outlook plugin so that it scans attachment when they are selected for open rather when the message is selected to be read
