  • 1.  Email stuck in Delivery Queue not deletable

    One of our customer running a Brightmail 9.0.2-9 Brightmail Gateway has an email stuck in the delivery queue. Which causes an error report to the user how tried to send this email.

    He had a typo in the emailadresse which caused this email to be not delivered.

    I`m not able to delete this message. nothing happens, when I try to delete it.

     

    The messages stuck in delivery Queue with this Status: Default-Non-Local-Route

    I already tried to reboot the device, but the mail still stuck in queue.

    I would be happy if someone has any suggestion how to fix it.

    If you can get the system somewhat idle (or at off peak time), go ahead and turn up MTA logging to debug.

    Then, I would log into the command line interface, and attempt to delete the message using the mta-control command, watching the maillog while you attempt.  This may provide more insight as to what is occuring.

    Remeber to change the log level back to your normal setting after this excercise.

    my idea was to update the device, do you think this could help to solve the problem?

    It may.  I personally don't recall any fixes that would address something like this post 9.0.2, but I could be wrong. 

    I would advise, if possible, to learn more about the problem before applying the upgrade.

    i did the update and it solved the problem.
