EMM DB goes down occasionaly..

Hi Friends,

Any ideas why NBU's EMM DB goes down quite frequently and where to check for its resolution and reason ??

You need to give us more info, such as NBU version and patch level, OS on master, exact error messages that are seen, etc.

The first thing to check is disk space on the master. EMM will automatically be shut down if disks fills up to prevent database corruption.

Run the following to check EMM logs when it goes down:

vxlogview -o 111 -t 00:15:00

The above will display EMM logs for the last 15 minutes. Adjust the time if necessary.

If using macafee and other non-symantec antivirus could cause services to go down ( inlcuding nbemm ) .  Be sure to make excpetions for NBU  .  Refer to : http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH56658

Look in the EMM log ... if it's going down due to disk spce (common cause) you should see it in there.

If it's crashing which is another possibility, look for a core file.
