  • 1.  Enabling SPF - All Domains

    Hi All - I am looking into possibliy enabling sender authentication  \ SPF on our 8.0.3 BrightMail gateway (Virtual appliance) (request originated from management) 

    For SPF to be most effective we were considering enabling the option and selecting all Domains - I see this is not recommended practice as extra processing is introduced with this check of all domains

    Our intention is to move any messages  that fail the spf auth into spam quarantine and modfiy subject line

    Does anybody run SPF against all domains or has anybody tried it and wish they hadnt :)
     
    Trying to gauge the consequences of checking all domains - current mail flow around 500k messages per 24hrs with around 12k clean (2%)

    Hi,

    Besides the extra processing that you mentioned that is another reason to not enable spf checking for all domains.  Please take a look at the following KB article:
