It cannot be done from any setting in the SEPM.

How are you sending emails currently, via a relay? You could set this up on yor mail server

    it is via relay.

The question is it possible to add a certificate to SEPM and modify Apache/Tomcat to use the certificate.

AFAIK the data between them is already encrypted.

What do you mean by encrypt the email notifications?  Can you describe in more detail what it is you want to accomplish?

The only option available with the SEPM as far as email notifications go, is to enable encrpytion of the communications between the SEPM and the mail server:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH169363

This means that the SMTP session will be encrypted, but the actual email itself will not.  It is currently not possible to encrypt the actual email itself, as that would require incorporating some sort of full email client into the SEPM.

    Hi,

SEPM 12.1 go to Admin > Servers > Server Properties > Email Server
Check the option to "Require the server to use a secure connection" (SSL).

    # note it should be supported by e-mail server.

    Regards

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

I would be glad to answer your query.

You can enhance the security of communication channel but it's not possible to encrypt email content itself.

I tried to check with Symantec Encryption as well but couldn't get any success.
