I have a company computer with "Symantec Encryption Desktop", not sure what version, installed. The C Drive, primary windows 7 boot drive, is encrypted. I bought a PNY SSD and tried to migrate C drive to it with the Acronis software that came with the drive. I ran the Acronis software, pick clone disk from C: to E: (SSD) and it asked me to reboot. Upon reboot it says MBR Error 3...
After googling I realized I should've decrypted the C: drive first. I have no recovery disk of any sort for the laptop. But I do have a old PGP recovery CD. I put that in, boot up, and it showed me the option to decrypt the boot drive. I started it. 5 hours later it is showing 97% still encrypted. Online it says this is because it's running at 16bits...
I don't have access to another company computer nor local company support for 4 days due to holiday and local schedule. Are there faster options to decrypt this? I have another windows 7 and Mac OSX machines. But I don't have symantec support id or info to open a ticket.
Can I put the C drive in a USB enclosure and decrypt it using the other Win or Mac machine? If so, can I get the software to do this? Is it any faster than running the 16bits decryption on my laptop currently (is it worth it to do this...etc).
Thx.
