Encrypted email to external address not setting passphrase any longer

    Hello everyone.

I have an open ticket with Symantec support and they can't figure this out.

We are using PGP Universal 3.2.1 (Build 4940), with the 10.2.1 client (build 4940) on Windows 7 Enterprise clients (64 bit), and Outlook 2010.

Previously, when we sent encrypted email to an external address (such as gmail), it would send an html file with instructions and passphrase to get the webmail.

About a month ago, something changed, and it now sends an email:

"Please click this link to establish a passphrase that you may use to access your message."

We want to configure this to be as it was, as it is confusing our users.

The tech support rep advised us to check the checkbox "Require Verified Key" in the mail policy that encrypts the message.

We have done so, but it has not resolved the problem.

Trying to post this question here since support cannot help, before we start a RFP to switch away from Symantec to a different encryption product....
