  • 1.  Encrypted external harddrive freezes up laptop

    Hi,

When I had a Sata harddrive in my laptop, I used to be able to plug in an external harddrive via USB and access it without any issues.  The Sata harddrive had PGP Encryption on it, the external harddrive did NOT.     I recently replaced my Sata harddrive with a Solid State drive and put the PGP Encryption on it.   Due to company policy, I now had to put PGP Encryption on the external harddrive as well.   Now, everytime I plug in the encrypted external harddrive, my laptop completely freezes up to the point where I have to hold down the power button to shut it off (I cant even get to the CTRL+ALT+DELETE screen).   I am trying to figure out what is the sudden reason for the laptop freezing.   Any help/thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
