Encrypting the output of Webservices on IIS

Created: 14 Dec 2011 • Updated: 14 Dec 2011 | 3 comments

I have Web Services deployed to IIS. The web services return xml structures. Now i want to encrypt them before returning, so that the recipient will decrypt. We want to use PGP to achieve this. Kindly advice me of the appropriate product and approach to do this without much code modification. The system is dedicated to only those web services.

Hi,

This is the Protection Center forum, I'm moving this thread to the PGP forum so the PGP folks can see your post..

You can encrypt the whole disk on the server. But data will go decrypted from the server to the network.

PGP does not offer web encryption features. I think you are looking for SSL or similar. You would enable that from IIS.

When you consider the issue resolved, please click Mark As Solution on the post that best provided the solution.

PGP Command Line, when used with something like Cryptosoft (http://www.cryptosoft.com/) should be able to do exactly what you want.

You can essentially encrypt the content by calling a script, before it is pushed out via IIS.
