    Hi Ajit,

What's the usage of this NAS?
Do you want a file encryption solution? Check PGP Command Line, see http://www.symantec.com/command-line

Does this NAS has any sort of special features that breaks some file system assumptions?

    Hi dcats,

This is a normal NAS which has Linux as operating system, users connects to it to access the file and folder shared amongst them,

file share encryption does not support Linux at the moment and neither can we install a full disk encryption client on a NAS.

An alternative would be using PGP Command Line to script the encryption of the file transferred to the NAS.

The OS of the NAS doesnt matter in this case.  You can use Netshare to encrypt the CIFS or Mapped drive shares from any Windows endpoints.  The data will then be encrypted within the NAS and can only be decrypted by other clients that have PGP Dekstop and the appropriate AD and PGP Desktop permissions.

I would make sure that the NAS firmware is up to date and has the latest SMB versions supported on it if you are going to use it with Fileshare encryption. Also be sure and test with the latest Symantec Encryption Desktop client, we have fixed a few issues related to NAS storage in the last couple releases.
