End point blocking web site access

Recently installed end point 12 and now can not access some web sites, pandora radio will not play and some other Internet site issues

Do you have the NTP component (Firewall and IPS) installed?

Check the Traffic log to see what is going on. Post it here for review if you want. Just make sure to note the time you tried to access but was blocked.

If you disable SEP, does the site(s) work?

Is this a managed or unmanaged SEP client?

Hi,

SEP won't block any site default. Check firewall rules and dig into the client machines logs.

SEP 12.1 will block IPV6 traffic by default.

Have you tried to acces the site after disabling the smc services?

will it work or samee issue?

Hello,

When you are trying to surf these websites, do you receive an error message from SEP?

Symantec Endpoint Protection would not block a website, unless a IPS or a Firewall policy is set.

I tried accessing the http://www.pandora.com/ and found no issues listening to the Radio.

Hi,

As everyone said SEP will not block web sites by default.

It might be environment specific you need to check the logs to know more about it.

You can check Traffic/Packet logs.
