    I have a few questions:

    1) where to find console performance increase settings (it is in registry before and not there anymore)
    2) what is the full path or link of java remote console?
3)I have a hard disk failure for SEPT server but the restore doesn't work. So I have to rebuild a server and install sept but it caused so much network traffic for all clients contacting the same named server. Is the only way to manually re-push each client?

    Hi,

    here are some answers:

    1) Double check in installation_guide.pdf chapter 4, par. "Adjusting the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager heap size" for more details.
    2) http://(Manager IP):9090
    3) ?

    Ginger,

For the third part of your question, you do have many alternatives.

Unfortunately, 1 of those options is to re-deploy to the clients.

Basically what is happening, is all your clients use a file called, SYLINK.XML for communication with the server.  Name, port, and key (if you will).

This is generated with the install of the server, so even a newly built server, with the same name and same IP will not have the same security key generated for a new install of SEPM.

Other options you have, replace the Sylink.XML file on each workstation with the new one generated from the newly installed server.

    OR

If you have many clients, say too many to do this manually, follow the following link provided by Symantec

    Also

    1) You may like to install the fastcgi for the console.

    On CD2 at TOOLS\NOSUPPORT\FASTCGI

    2) Start > All Programs > SEPM > Right click console > Properties
Find Target > copy that file over to the "Start in" directory and double click that to execucute. That's one link. The other is to make a bat file to change to this directory and then execute the target file. This bat file can be another lnk

    3) This isnt very clear, But if you mean that the server has crashed and the clients are orphan. You don't need to reinstall them. Replace the Sylink.xml on them.
