EndPoint 12.1 for a Win 200 R2 server. Which files?
Updated: 28 Nov 2011 | 3 comments
Hi,
All I really wanted was a simple antivirus ONLY product for my server. Instead, I had to buy this Endpoint monster.
What are the file different files for? I understand the 2 client ones. But what are the others? And why did the 2.6G zip file not contain any docs??
A part of me wants to install the 64-bit client and call it a day, but I'd like to learn about the rest of the product if this is possible before 2012.
Can anyone provide a high-level description of the 3 other exe files?
Will I have the option, during installation, to NOT install the firewall?
Thanks for your time (and for listening to me gripe).
Bruce
PS. Why doesn't symantec's site play nice with chrome??

Install and Migration Docs for SEP 11
You may have the wrong product...
Is this SEP 12.1 Enterprise Edition or Small Business Edition?
If your server is running Windows 2000, the 12.1 client itself is incompatible with that OS. There are ways of supporting W2K with 12.1, but it involves the manager (SEPM) and importing a SEP 11 legacy client into it.
Who did you buy the software from?
