  • 1.  Endpoint blocking traffic from local appliance

    I have a NVR running on my local network.  We are able to sing into the cloud accounts that connect to the NVR.  We can see live video feeds for a little while, then Symantecd Endpoint blocks the connection for 600 seconds.  How can I allow the NVR connection so that Endpoint stops blocking it?  The NVR gets its IP address from the DHCP server.

    Have you tried adding a firewall rule to allow? Check the Traffic log for further info on what's being blocked (port/protocol)

    As Brian says, you're going to need to create a FW allow rule, to match this NVR of yours.  As it's on DHCP though, I think you'll need to match it by DNS Host, which case you'll also need to allow SEP to perform Reverse lookups as discussed in the below article:

    NOTE: This is an old article, and the "Enable Reverse DNS Lookup" option is now in the Built-In rules section of the FW policy.
