endpoint computers are not visible in the DLP portal

DLP endpoint agent has been installed on the computers but are not visible in the DLP portal.
DLP agent installed successfully on the endpoints with symantec management console and are visible in the symantec management console with the DLP agent installed. Why they are not visible in the DLP portal? Is there any more steps to do?

What version of DLP are you using?  When you are talking about DLP Portal are you talking about:  System -> Agents -> Overview?

Can the agents communicate w/ the DLP Endpoint Server?  Is the Endpoint Server running?  What other troubleshooting steps have you taken?

When you mentioned they are visible in the Symantec Management Console are they responding to tasks?  Can you run a task on them throught the Console?

In the Symantec Management Console

there is the DLP Agent Settings, verify that the server name/IP is correct.
Also, you should verify that port 8000 is open from the DLP Endpoint Prevent/Dicover to the agents.
And last but not least you should verify that the DLP Endpoint Prevent/Discover is working correctly.

Thanks for your concern. Answers to your questions are as follow.

  • Above all I am doing DLP for the first time.
  • DLP version 10.
  • The Endpoint server is running.
  • Yes, they are visible and responding in the Symantec Management Console.
  • The sever name and IP is correct but I will check for the ports.
