Desktop Email Encryption is developed from the old PGP software.

Endpoint Encryption is part GuardianEdge and part PGP (more GE than PGP tbh).

As far as what is avaialable as upgrade an old PGP Desktop Professional client, you'd probably be best looking at something called Encryption Desktop:

Depends on your use case though...

    Dear _Shk,

The products you listed are all the same now. They are all "Symantec Encryption Desktop".
Previously, various licenses would be issued to restrict various features of Symantec Encryption Desktop. However, currently they are all sold as "Symantec Endpoint Encryption".

After purchasing Symantec Endpoint Encryption, you receive access to Symantec Encryption Desktop through a "Drive Encryption Standalone (Without Management Server)" link. There you have access to the Symantec Encryption Desktop download.

A full-featured license is sent out after the purchase as well.

The customer does have access to Symantec Endpoint Encryption downloads too; However, those are not recommended for standalone encryption instances.

SMLatCST is correct that Symantec Endpoint Encryption has a seperate origin -- Guardian Edge Encryption.

However, in version 11 of Symantec Endpoint Encryption, the drive encryption component of Endpoint Encryption is also powered by PGP technology.

I hope that helps to answer your questions.

    Best Regards,

    Phil
