    Hey-

We're looking to purchasing a few laptops from Dell and most are now being sold with Solid State Hybrid Drives.  I was curious if anyone on the forum can speak to any successes or failures they've had with getting the drives to encrypt.

      Thanks.

Can you confirm if you're asking about Symantec Endpoint Encryption (formerly GuardianEdge) or Symantec Encryption (formerly PGP)?

Generally speaking, they should work fine and are supported.  Just avoid SSDs that perform native encryption.  Also, you're unlikely to see any benefit from those that employ compression either.  See below for a few SSD articles on SEE:

Sorry for the lack of clarity... I'm referencing Symantec Endpoint Encryption.

I'm waiting to hear back from Dell on model/make of the drive but as mentioned, I was hoping someone might have some experience and could speak to their experience.

      Thanks.
