Endpoint Encryption Manager on multipul PC's
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments
Hello everyone,
I hope this is an easy question to answer as I'm just stepping into this product where someone else left off.
I would like to load the Endpoint Encryption Manager on multiple PCs (ie Help desk PCs) so they can help do the One Time Password function. My question is this:
Do I just run the EEM install on the additional PCs using the same DB log in? And, do then have to give each help desk person the password to that DB so they can launch the Manager?
Any help on this would be great!
Thank you,
Monty

Generally, you have the option.
As far as i can remember,
you do have the option because you use MMC to manage the system.
when you install the server there are a couple of .msi files you need to install:
1) symantec endpoint encryption framework.msi
2) symantec endpoint encryption server.msi
if you install the framework on another computer you should get the ability to connect remotely to the management computer by adding a "snap-in" to the MMC console.
this is not verified so dont blame me if its not working but its a guess that should work.

Hey Monty, You can install
Hey Monty,
You can install the Endpoint encryption manager on multiple computers to run the one time password program. Here are some steps you need to follow.
1) Install Symantec Framework.msi first.
2) Then install One Time password program.
During the installation, please make sure to supply the correct database name and instance to perform an installation. Once you finish the installation then open the mmc and make sure to add the OTP program snap to the MMC console to use the One Time Password program. Please let me know if you have any questions.
