Cannot use mouse/keyboard (USB connection) when loggin into Encryption to input password details on a LENOVO SFF desktop computer but can use mouse/keboard in BIOS password. have also tried different mouse/keybaord.

Both the Framework and the full disk is installed on a 64bit windows 7 professional.

Any solutions??, Is there any way of removing the encryption or allowing for the use of the keyboard/mouse (enabling usb when accessing log in screen)..

...if you can't log into the machine, short of a forced decryption.  The below article should walk you through it.  Please note that one of the first steps in this is to contact Symantec Support:

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH134766

Is there any reason why you haven't upgraded to the latest version of SEE (currently 8.2.0MP2)?  Later versions are more likely to have the drivers included in the Pre-Boot Authentication Environment to support whatever USB controller is in your Lenovo.

Obviously, submitting more detailed device information to Symantec will help them intoduce support for your machine too (if they choose to).

    Hi,

Are you using USB mouse and keyboard?

If so, you might want to try PS/2 devices. At least a PS/2 keyboard  would allow you to input your user and password.

As SMLatCST said, once you are logged you shoud upgrade to 8.2.0 MP2, SEE last release.

You can also try enabling legacy USB support under LENOVO BIOS.

    Regards,

    LG
