Endpoint keeps running back to back scans

I currenlty do not have any scheduled scans but each day, a scan starts. When it finishes, a new scan will start right behind it. This keeps going until I cancel the scan a few times. What is causing the scans to keep popping up? It is annoying when I am trying to give presentations and a scan will start in the middle.

If you check the scan log, what kind of scan is it?

What version of SEP is this and did you upgrade from a previous version?

Is is logging them as manual scans. the version is 12.1.167.4971. This just started occurring within the past couple of months. I have had the machine for a year or so and take all updates.

Is this a managed or unmanaged version?

You're on the first version of SEP 12.1 Are you able to upgrade?

It is a managed version, I believe. It was installed by the IT department on my company laptop. If upgrade is free, I can do. If a cost is associated, I will have to contact the IT dept. I know they are having the same issue.
