So we all got the announcement about the upcoming Symantec and Veritas split. I haven't seen where Altiris/Ghost fits into the split. Symantec is going to become Information Security and Veritas is going to be Information Management. Altiris/Ghost is OS and Software management. Is Altiris/Ghost going to splilt as well? Are they going to remain with Symantec or go with Veritas? I would assume they would stay with Symantec, but we all know what assume stands for.
Every time something like this happens, my company tends to start looking for other vendors because of the uncertainty. When the HP/Compaq merger happened, they made the mistake of going with IBM. Now that IBM has sold out to the Chinese, they're looking again. If we don't hear something soon, they'll start looking for other solutions.
Has anyone heard what's going to happen to Altiris/Ghost?
