  • 1.  Endpoint Protection 11.05. Is it possible to convert from SQL to embedded after installation?

I have been tasked by Management with verifying whether it is possible to take an instance in which an install was done with the SQL server option, and change it after the fact to use the embedded database!  The reason for this question is licensing concerns.  Is this possible?  If so what are the steps to accomplish this?  If it is not possible, can the SQL Database be moved to a dedicated SQL Server?  If so what are the steps to accomplish that?  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks,

    Todd

Yes, just install the new manager console then restore the backup done from the SEPM of the SQL database then restore to a machine installed with the embedded database.
