  • 1.  Endpoint Protection 12 unmanaged Installation to Windows 2003 crashed, now server stops working

I uninstalled Symantec Endpoint Protection managed from a Windows Server 2003 computer and reinstall it unmanaged. Installation crashed at the end and locked up the computer. Now it seems like SEP is partly installed and is crashing it. Only a power button push can get the computer working again.for a while.

Contact symantec support and get the clean wipe tool. With the help of this you can remove the SEP.Remember that this tool may corrupt network card driver. If it happens you have to reinstall your network card driver....

Cleanwipe is not  recommended to be  run on Servers.

Go to safe mode, and  try  to uninstall SEP.
Also, download the Windows installer  cleanup utility, and use it to remove  SEP
Then install SEP unmanaged, with the  option, run  live update  after  install  unchecked.

You cannot uninstall in safe mode because windows installer will not work in safe mode. But manual uninstall is possible.Refer this KB

    Cleanwipe is compatible with servers

You cannot uninstall in Safe Mode

The Windows Installer Cleanup Utility (MSICUU) is now not supported by Microsoft

Are you working with SEP SBE 12 or SEP 11?
