    Hi

I am currently trying to roll out Endpoint Anti Virus but I am finding the GUI very unhelpful and the search for new machines very difficult.

I have imported the AD directory structure and can see all of the machines fine in each of the AD groups.  I can not find any way to roll out the client to each of the groups or any of the groups.

I seem to be forced to add the machines one at a time or search for each machine in turn.  I am aware taht i can search IP ranges but this is not very intuative also.

when I do search for a machine name the software seems to return a different machine name than I searched for.  I am not sure where the endpoint software is searchnig for the names of the machines.

can anyone give me some help on this?  where is the software searching for the computer names?  it is deffinatly not in AD

how can i deploy the clients per group on the AD structure in the clients tab?  or can I?

    thanks

    Grant

The AD synchronisation feature accessed via the CLIENTS section of the SEPM console is more for management than deployment.  You cannot push out new clients from here.

There is a wizard (accessed from HOME-> Common Tasks-> Install Protection to Clients) that can be used to push the client installs out, but (as you've found) this works by IP address or hostname list.

For a deployment by OU, you're looking at either pushing the client via Group Policy, or using the SEP Integration Component.  More details on these below:
