    Hello,

I have a Endpoint Protection Small Business Edition.

in these days I receive email titled "Database is down"

I searched for this issue on internet and found some webpage

    http://www.symantec.com/connect/articles/how-perform-disaster-recovery-without-database-backuprestore#comment-7355931
    http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/symantec-end-point-protection-121-database-down-error

followed this guide, I could restart database service.

One different thing from the guide,

When I tried to execute the Query "DROP INDEX I_SEM_AGENT_COMPUTER_ID_PLUS",

dbisqlc.exe reports error "Cannot find index named 'I_SEM_AGENT_COMPUTER_ID_PLUS'"

Anyway the database runs again, but after some hours, it goes down again and again.

How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks,

    Kim

Whats the exact version of SEPM you are running?

do you see this on your SEPM as well?

Client online status is not reflected correctly after restoration of embedded database
    Fix ID: 2620816/2612223/2659915/2710490
Symptom: After an embedded database is restored from backup, the client online status is not reflected properly in the SEPM console. The SEPM logs may also contain the messages:
    1) Assertion failed: 200114
    2) Can't find values for row <ID> in index 'I_SEM_AGENT_COMPUTER_ID_PLUS'
    3) java.sql.SQLException: [Sybase][ODBC Driver][SQL Anywhere]Unable to find in index 'I_SEM_AGENT_COMPUTER_ID_PLUS' for table 'SEM_AGENT'
Solution: The SEPM database restore function was updated to properly rebuild indices of databases that were created or migrated from SEP 11.0.

please post err.log from the DB folder.. Im sure you will have that log. It generates only when there is an issue with DB

    12/03 11:30:57. *** ERROR *** Assertion failed: 101412[sem5] (11.0.1.2472)

The only solution for this error is to re install or perform a DR.

    Okay, This is very important.

If you're planning to do a DR, Open the err.log.. And indentify the 1st time it showed Assertion Failed.

You will have you use a backup taken prior to that.

Else, (if you dont have Backup prior to that err)

    Do a fresh install...

None other solutions would work, though it would be for time being.

Okay, I reinstalled SEPM and 1 hour passed with no Database down.
I could not make a backup because everytime I tried to backup, the database goes down.

Anyway there is no down now, I can go back to my work.

Thanks for your answers, I appreciate.

    Best regards,

    Kim
